Detailed composition :
Aqua : water (aqueous phase of the emulsion)
Mentha Piperita Flower/Leaf/Stem Water : peppermint floral water, obtained by hydro distillation of organic peppermint. It is invigorating and refreshing.
Centaurea Cyanus Flower Water : cornflower floral water, obtained by hydro distillation of organic cornflowers. We use it for its soothing properties, which help to reduce skin discomfort.
Glycerin : glycerine, moisturising properties.
Vaccinium Corymbosum Fruit Extract : extract of blueberries from the Vosges mountains, rich in chlorogenic acid and bioflavonoids, which protect skin cells from damage caused by free radicals and oxidative stress.
Lonicera Caerulea Fruit : extract from the fruit of the blue honeysuckle. Rich in loganic acid and sophorin, it helps maintain optimal levels of hyaluronic acid, which is responsible for hydrating the upper layers of the epidermis.
Caprylyl/capryl Glucoside : Micellar water, as its name suggests, is a cosmetic product consisting of water and micelles. Micelles are micro-droplets of fatty substances that have the property of remaining suspended in water in the form of spheres. In the case of micelles, the nature of the fatty substance used is essential: it is a fatty substance that has a very small part that is attracted to water. This compound is called a surfactant. It is what gives micellar water its cleansing properties. Caprylyl/capryl glucoside is a surfactant made up of fatty acids (caprylic acid and capric acid) and a sugar, glucose (the sugar being the part that has an affinity for water). It allows stable microdroplets to form in water (no separation into two layers). This is the opposite of a two-phase make-up remover, for example, where the two layers (oil and water) are clearly separated and must be mixed by shaking the bottle.
Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol : a combination of alcohol and an acetic acid (vinegar) derivative, this is an antimicrobial agent. It prevents the product from being contaminated by bacteria and microorganisms that are harmful to your skin. It is essential to include a preservative in a formula from a consumer health perspective, as a formula without preservatives is a breeding ground for bacteria.
Perfume (Fragrance) : a 100% natural, non-synthetic fragrance composed of a combination of natural aromatic molecules. Phytodia Laboratories does not use synthetic fragrances. Linalool, limonene and other geraniols are often listed at the very end of the ingredient list. These are compounds found in the essential oils or natural fragrances used in the product, the presence of which must be mentioned on the label. These 26 substances are small, volatile, fragrant molecules that can cause allergic reactions on certain sensitive skin types at the site of application. This is why their presence on the label is mandatory.
Sodium hydroxide : a basifying agent used to increase the pH of the formula so that it is equal to the pH of the skin, thereby avoiding any risk of irritation.
